IFTRA 9th Biennial World Conference [South Africa, 2026] Preparations Now Open

The International Forum of Teacher Regulatory Authorities [IFTRA], the global body of the National Teaching Councils, brings you its best compliments and uses this opportunity to announce the IFTRA 9th Biennial World Conference, to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, June 17-19, 2026. Download the Conference Announcement and Template for submitting the list of delegates here.

 

The Africa Federation of Teaching Regulatory Authorities [AFTRA], on behalf of the African continent, is hosting the Conference, in accordance with IFTRA traditions. AFTRA further serves as the current IFTRA Headquarters. Therefore, all enquiries about the Conference and IFTRA should be directed to the AFTRA International Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.


The IFTRA 9th Biennial World Conference is co-hosted by the South Africa Council for Educators [SACE]. 


All strategic partners in teacher development and professionalisation are invited. The process for participation is as follows: 


1. Payment of the conference fee [500 USD] per delegate - use the inter-bank account details provided in the announcement.

2. Send your list of delegates to IFTRA with evidence of conference fee paid.

3. Invitation letters will be sent to your delegates.

4. Other logistical information will be provided in due course.

 Note: Guest speakers will automatically receive their final invitation letters. They should not pay the conference fee.


All submissions and enquiries should be sent to convenor@iftra.org and copied to drsteve44@gmail.com.


IFTRA is still open to receive papers for the Parallel Sessions. Such papers should pertain to the theme/subthemes of the Conference and follow the writing guide and submission deadlines provided in the announcement.  Please share the announcement in your professional networks and encourage stakeholders to participate in this memorable global event being hosted by Africa.
